Polyester DTY (polyester stretch textured yarn) is widely used in the field of functional fabrics due to its excellent elasticity and processability. In terms of moisture absorption and perspiration, the capillary effect is enhanced through the design of special-shaped cross-sections (such as cross-shaped, five-leaf shape) and microporous structure to quickly extract sweat; the antibacterial function is achieved by adding silver ions, zinc-based additives or blending antibacterial masterbatch to inhibit bacterial growth; in terms of environmental protection, recycled polyester (rPET) DTY uses recycled bottle flakes to reduce carbon footprint, and bio-based polyester (such as PTT) is also under development to promote sustainable development.

Polyester DTY enhances hygroscopicity through physical modification (such as special-shaped cross-sections, microgrooves) or chemical finishing (hydrophilic additives). Shaped fibers increase the specific surface area and accelerate water diffusion; hydrophilic finishing gives hydrophobic polyester moisture absorption ability, making the fabric both quick-drying and comfortable, and is widely used in sportswear, outdoor equipment, etc.
It is mainly divided into post-finishing (such as antibacterial coating) and raw fiber modification (adding antibacterial masterbatch during melt spinning). The latter has better durability and commonly uses ingredients such as silver ions and quaternary ammonium salts. It is suitable for medical textiles, underwear and other fields with high hygiene requirements.
Including recycled polyester (rPET) (spinning recycled plastic bottles), bio-based polyester (such as corn fiber PLA blending), and degradable polyester (such as PBAT modification). Brands such as Adidas and Patagonia have adopted rPET DTY in large quantities to reduce oil dependence and environmental pollution.
